NCBC is a national, non-partisan citizen-building movement dedicated to developing informed, capable and responsible citizens; strengthening communities; and supporting accountable institutions. Through lifelong learning, Citizen Circles, leadership development and collaborative public action, NCBC enables people to move from awareness to participation, from participation to leadership, and from leadership to lasting institutional change.
NCBC एक राष्ट्रीय, गैर-दलीय नागरिक-निर्माण आंदोलन है, जो जागरूक, सक्षम और उत्तरदायी नागरिकों के विकास, समुदायों की मजबूती तथा जवाबदेह संस्थाओं के निर्माण के लिए समर्पित है। आजीवन सीखने, सिटिजन सर्किल, नेतृत्व-विकास और सहयोगी सार्वजनिक पहल के माध्यम से NCBC नागरिकों को जागरूकता से सहभागिता, सहभागिता से नेतृत्व और नेतृत्व से स्थायी संस्थागत परिवर्तन की दिशा में आगे बढ़ने का अवसर देता है.

Why NCBC?
NCBC की आवश्यकता क्यों?
A nation cannot achieve lasting progress through economic growth, government programmes or laws alone. Development becomes sustainable when citizens understand their rights and responsibilities, communities cooperate to solve shared problems, and institutions work with competence, transparency and accountability.
केवल आर्थिक वृद्धि, सरकारी योजनाएँ या कानून किसी राष्ट्र को स्थायी प्रगति तक नहीं पहुँचा सकते। विकास तब टिकाऊ बनता है, जब नागरिक अपने अधिकारों और उत्तरदायित्वों को समझें, समुदाय साझा समस्याओं के समाधान के लिए सहयोग करें और संस्थाएँ दक्षता, पारदर्शिता तथा जवाबदेही के साथ कार्य करें।
NCBC connects these three foundations — citizens, communities and institutions — through continuous learning, democratic participation, ethical leadership and constructive public action. Its purpose is not to create passive beneficiaries, but capable contributors, responsible leaders and institution builders.
NCBC निरंतर सीखने, लोकतांत्रिक सहभागिता, नैतिक नेतृत्व और रचनात्मक सार्वजनिक कार्रवाई के माध्यम से नागरिक, समुदाय और संस्था—इन तीन आधारों को जोड़ता है। इसका उद्देश्य निष्क्रिय लाभार्थी बनाना नहीं, बल्कि सक्षम भागीदार, उत्तरदायी नेतृत्वकर्ता और संस्था-निर्माता विकसित करना है।

Our Philosophy
हमारा दर्शन
NCBC is founded on a simple but far-reaching conviction: Citizen Building is Nation Building. Every person possesses equal dignity and civic potential. Democracy is not only a system of elections; it is a way of life expressed through dialogue, participation, responsibility, equality, accountability and public service.
NCBC एक सरल लेकिन दूरगामी विश्वास पर आधारित है: नागरिक निर्माण ही राष्ट्र निर्माण है। प्रत्येक व्यक्ति समान गरिमा और नागरिक क्षमता रखता है। लोकतंत्र केवल चुनाव की व्यवस्था नहीं, बल्कि संवाद, सहभागिता, उत्तरदायित्व, समानता, जवाबदेही और लोकसेवा में व्यक्त होने वाली जीवन-पद्धति है।
Learning must lead to responsible action. Leadership begins with citizenship and service. Strong citizens strengthen communities; strong communities strengthen institutions; accountable institutions deepen democracy; and a deeper democracy creates the foundation for a developed India.
सीखना उत्तरदायी कार्रवाई तक पहुँचना चाहिए। नेतृत्व की शुरुआत नागरिकता और सेवा से होती है। सशक्त नागरिक समुदायों को मजबूत करते हैं; मजबूत समुदाय संस्थाओं को सुदृढ़ करते हैं; जवाबदेह संस्थाएँ लोकतंत्र को गहरा करती हैं; और गहरा लोकतंत्र विकसित भारत की नींव बनता है।

NCBC Learning & Action Cycle

NCBC works through a continuous circular process rather than a one-time, linear programme. Citizens learn, reflect, connect with others, collaborate, take practical action, develop leadership and inspire new citizens. Every inspired citizen begins the cycle again, making citizen building a self-growing movement.

Citizen Circle
सिटिजन सर्किल
Citizen Circles are the local learning and action units of NCBC. They provide a respectful, non-partisan space where citizens can study public issues, reflect on shared values, exchange experiences, identify local challenges and work together on constructive solutions.
सिटिजन सर्किल NCBC की स्थानीय अध्ययन और कार्रवाई इकाइयाँ हैं। ये सम्मानपूर्ण और गैर-दलीय मंच प्रदान करते हैं, जहाँ नागरिक सार्वजनिक प्रश्नों का अध्ययन कर सकते हैं, साझा मूल्यों पर विचार कर सकते हैं, अनुभव बाँट सकते हैं, स्थानीय चुनौतियों की पहचान कर सकते हैं और रचनात्मक समाधान के लिए मिलकर कार्य कर सकते हैं।
A Citizen Circle is not merely a meeting group. It is a continuing pathway from learning to collaboration, from collaboration to local leadership, and from local leadership to stronger communities and institutions.
